  1. 1. I used the strategy of sharing my work with my peers throughout the writing of my paper. It was pretty effective especially with small things such as grammar. It was a little harder for bigger ideas because my ideas tended to contradict with my peers, which made it hard to really take anything away from it.
    2. I feel I have strengthen my grammar a lot and it has almost become a real strength. I hope to finalize this strength next year.
    3. I learned that I have a short attention span especially when it comes to editing papers.
    4. -humor facilitates success-you never know what someone else is thinking
5.I thought I was pretty engaged throughout this year. I feel it was better than the last three quarters so therefore based on these observations, I assign myself a 49/50 for engagement in Q4.

  2. 1. When writing my essay I tried to get the most out of the peer edits. The great thing about having your peers read through your story is that they are able to catch things that you may have glossed over. I have found that when I write an essay I easily look mistakes, it helps to have someone making sure your paper is on the write track as well as suggesting ways to make it the best it can be.
    2. ONe area of growth from last quarter was focusing on slowing down when I read Shakespeare. this quarter i focused on slowing down when I read Othello, I made sure I understood what was happening by looking at the notes on the side of the page. As 4th quarter progressed the way I went about reading Othello became an area of strength of mine.
3.I learned that I can't be the only one who reads over my paper. My classmates feedback can make a tremendous difference in the quality of my writing.
    4. Slow down and make sure you internalize what you are reading. Always participate in class dialogues.
5.In the 4th quarter I focused on engaging more in Shakespeare and class dialogues. I felt like in the 4th quarter I improved on these skills. Based on these observations, I assign myself a 49/50 for engagement in Q4.

  3. 1. One strategy of growth that I used when writing my essay was to check back to my "formula" for an analytical paragraph, to make sure I was following and fulfilling all of the parameters.
2.One area of growth that I've had for most of the year was structuring my paragraphs. Largely due to the strategy above, I think my structuring of my paragraphs has improved.
    3. One thing that I've learned in Q4, especially this last week, is that I get lazy when I don't interact with a teacher on a daily basis. Although I never went to talk to Dr. Stogdill personally, being in his class every day made me feel more obligated to do my work on time and to more actively engage in class discussion. With the absence of a teacher (although there were substitutes), I found myself more withdrawn and less participatory.
    4. Don't wait until the last night to do homework, even if it's relatively simple. Remember to focus on discussions that relate to the class, no matter how tempting it might be to discuss vegetarianism or capitalism.
5 Overall, I felt that my engagement this year was pretty solid. I participated in class discussions actively, and I took criticism on my writing and helped make it stronger. However, my homework submissions could have used more care, even though the vast majority of my homework was turned in on time (and in the correct format) Based on these observations, I assign myself a 49/50 for engagement in Q4.
